Every issue we face demands to be viewed through the lens of social, environmental and economic sustainability. These policies are grounded in the Voices of Malvern charter and shaped directly by what this community has told us. We're at a turning point, not just nationally, but here in Victoria, and the change starts local.

Integrity, Accountability & Transparency

Transparent, honest representation - answering to the community, not the caucus.

What I'll do
  • NSW-style IBAC - an integrity commission with real investigative powers
  • Better Freedom of Information, automatic publishing of ministerial diaries, rapid disclosure of political donations, and no commercial-in-confidence contracts
  • Better public procurement processes focused on quality and value that enable small businesses to participate

Tough & Smart on Crime

Strong laws, more police on the beat, and evidence-based approaches to stop repeat offending.

What I'll do
  • Strong bail laws - presumption against release for violent crimes or repeat offenders
  • More police on the beat with better admin support
  • Invest in safer refuges and emergency housing for people leaving family violence and/or dealing with mental health challenges
  • Evidence-based approaches to stop repeat offending

Housing & Affordability

Increase housing stock while preserving character, reducing costs, and supporting the next generation into the market.

What I'll do
  • Four storey default limit on development to increase housing stock while preserving Malvern's character
  • Support the pre-fab housing industry to reduce costs, create jobs and provide better, greener housing
  • Support trade skills through tech schools and TAFEs
  • Centralised property maintenance and rental applications to reward good landlords and tenants and protect privacy

Economic Growth

Invest in the long-term prosperity of our local economy - supporting small business, rewarding job creation, and building skills.

What I'll do
  • Index payroll tax thresholds to encourage hiring
  • Property tax reform
  • Restore tech schools and provide more job-ready training
  • Skills, jobs and prosperity: invest in critical-goods manufacturing to guard against sovereign risk

Climate & Environment

Practical local action on clean energy, waste reduction, and building a greener Malvern for the next generation.

What I'll do
  • Support solar uptake on residential, commercial and industrial buildings
  • Support grid upgrading to enable depots to electrify vehicle fleets
  • Promote community battery grid projects
  • Waste reduction: work with not-for-profits, community services and others to reduce waste, address need and build efficient circular economies

First Nations Australians

We support the respectful treatment of First Nations people, the oldest continuous culture on earth.

What I'll do
  • Recognise and respect the world's oldest continuous living culture
  • Support Victoria's Treaty
  • Consult on ways to integrate indigenous knowledge and care for country into environmental practices and protections
